1890 Founded in Maleras, Sweden, by Gustav Holmqvist

1916 A new glassworks was built Company Name AB Stromsborgs Glassworks

1917 The Glassworks burnt down at the beginning of the year, employees started to rebuild the factory, finishing and starting production again in November.

1922 They went bankrupt due to the deep depression of 1921 to 1922

1924 Production started once again, now with a Master Glassblower from Orrefors, Gustav Rosander, as head of the company. The Glassworks was now half owned by the employees and renamed AB Maleras Glassworks

1960 to 1975 This was a difficult time for the whole glass industry resulting in 5 glassworks companies, including Maleras, merging to form Krona-bruken AB in 1975

1977 Krona ruken AB went bankrupt. Maleras Glassworks was then bought by Kosta Boda

1981 Kosta Boda intended on closing down Maleras Glassworks so 104 Maleras inhabitants invested 1000SEK to save the company. AB Maleras Glassworks became an employee owned company

1981 onwards Since 1981 the company has been thriving, gathering extremely skilful and capable people around them and increasing the employee count from 15 to 50.
