This wonderful porcelain figurine is a rendition of the Nymth, Arethusa. In Greek mythology, she is known as ‘the waterer’ as she fled the river god Alpheus, eventually turning into a water fountain on the isle of Sicily. She stands upright wearing a long dress made of gres porcelain, decorated with shiny silver spots. She holds her arms above her head in a dynamic and graceful pose, as her delicate facial features and skin appear lifelike, finished in soft, matte white porcelain. She is a wonderful addition to the Lladro Greek mythological women trilogy, alongside Erytheia and Hesperia.
