BRAND INFORMATION

Beatrix Potter is one of the most loved children’s writers of the twentieth century. Her works range from The Tale of Peter Rabbit to The Fairy Caravan and are all illustrated with her iconic watercolour paintings. It was Potter herself who first marketed spin-off products such as cuddly toys based on her paintings, recognising the potential for them to become popular parts of children’s playtime. She was dedicated to preserving the English countryside, and spent vast amounts of the proceeds from her work on preserving working farms in the Lake District where she lived in her later life. These lands were left to the National Trust upon her death in 1943. Today her legacy lives on both in the conservation work that continues in her name and through the loveable animal characters that she created.
